With over 25 years of experience taking photographs, I specialize in capturing artistic portraits of expecting mothers, newborns, babies and their families. I’m passionate about the work I do because as a mother, I understand the importance of capturing those precious moments and memories that are so fleeting. I take pride in every photograph, and edit each one individually. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and spend a lot of time on the portfolios I deliver to my clients. For these reasons, I am confident that I will capture images that you will treasure for a lifetime.

I grew up in New England, attended the Massachusetts College of Art where I earned my BFA in Photography. I then moved to NYC to study at Pratt Institute and I received my MFA in Photography and Digital Media. My formal training was predominately in film, developing and printing my images in the darkroom. I begrudgingly switched to digital over a decade ago, all along, holding onto my darkroom equipment as I considered myself a “purist” when it came to my photography. Although I do miss the darkroom at times I have come to love digital media as it offers so many more tools for creativity. A few years ago I donated my darkroom equipment to a local school and have never looked back.

I moved to San Francisco in 2010 with my husband and our then four month old baby boy. After becoming a mother I began focusing my photography on newborns and babies. I feel privileged that I get to capture some of the happiest moments of peoples lives. My ultimate goal is to freeze time for you in images that I know will be looked at and loved for years.

Earlier in my career, I worked as Commercial Photographer and Art Instructor in NYC and Boston. Commercially, I worked with digital media, portraiture, fashion, and magazine and catalog production. As a secondary school teacher in Massachusetts, I taught courses in Digital and Fine Art media including methods of drawing, painting, photography and video production.

My work is inspired by beauty, light, shadow and wonder. I’m interested in focus and depth of field in my photography as it forces us to see the world, and each other, in a different way. I strive to capture the personality and innocence of the babies and children I photograph, and the love between family. It’s always an honor to capture precious moments in time for my clients.
